PM Kisan Scheme Funds Released

PM Kisan Scheme: 19th Installment Released on February 22, 2025

Today, Saturday, February 22, 2025, the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is being credited to farmers’ accounts across Gujarat and India.

This scheme, started by PM Narendra Modi in 2019, gives small and marginal farmers ₹6,000 yearly. The money comes in three ₹2,000 installments via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

It helps farmers buy essentials like seeds and fertilizers, supporting their livelihoods.

Early Release for Farmers

Originally set for February 24 during PM Modi’s Bihar visit, this installment was moved to today.

About 9.7 to 9.8 crore farmers will get funds, with over ₹22,000 crore allocated.

In Gujarat, a key farming state, this aid will help families in areas like Saurashtra and Kutch, known for cotton and groundnuts.

Cotton Farmers’ Struggles

But Gujarat’s cotton farmers face issues. Procurement at Minimum Support Prices (MSP) has stopped.

This means they can’t sell at guaranteed rates, adding financial stress.

Farmer leaders say PM-KISAN helps short-term, but the MSP halt hurts long-term stability for cotton growers.

How to Get the Funds

Farmers need to complete e-KYC to receive this installment. Without it, they’ll miss out.

Check status or register at pmkisan.gov.in or local Common Service Centers (CSCs).

Tax-paying farmers or ineligible ones are excluded, with ₹335 crore already recovered from them.

Looking Ahead

Today’s payout shows the government’s focus on farmer welfare.

Yet, unresolved MSP issues remain a concern in rural Gujarat.

Farmers await Budget 2025, hoping for a raise in aid to ₹10,000 or ₹12,000. Stay updated via the PM Kisan portal.
